What does Tender Mean?

A Tender(Tendering) is the process whereby an organisation will determine who they will procure (Purchase/Buy) a particular product or service from.

It is generally a formal process and in the case of Public Sector organisations it is a process governed by regulation.

The process varies greatly depending on the individual buyer, the type of goods/service as well as the potential impact/risk on the organisation buying the goods and their business.

Private sector businesses have little regulation on how and where they spend their money and can do so without any formal process if they wish.

You can search for tenders suitable for your needs using our tender database which includes tenders from over 500 UK Tender Portals and Systems.
